Do I need a permit for an egress window installation in Cleveland?

In most Cleveland-area municipalities, yes. Egress window installations typically require a building permit because they involve cutting into your home's foundation wall. Evolve Egress handles all the details — permit requirements for Cleveland, Parma, Lakewood, and every suburb in between.

How long does an egress window installation take in a typical Cleveland home?

Most Cleveland-area egress window installations are completed in a single day. We arrive in the morning, cut the foundation (poured concrete or block — both are common in Greater Cleveland), install the window and well, set up drainage, and finish the interior trim.

My Cleveland home has an older block foundation. Can you still install an egress window?

Yes. Block foundations are extremely common across Cleveland's older neighborhoods — Lakewood, West Park, Garfield Heights, Maple Heights. We've installed thousands of egress windows in block walls, reinforcing the opening with a steel lintel to maintain structural integrity.

What does an egress window cost in the Cleveland area?

Every home is different — foundation type, window size, well configuration, and any site-specific factors. Most projects fall in the $6,000–$15,000 range. We provide free, no-obligation estimates. Call (216) 941-5470.
